In der Islamkunde wird seit einigen Jahren sehr lebhaft diskutiert, inwieweit „Horizonte des Individuellen“ in literarischen und dokumentarischen Quellen wahrnehmbar sind. Der Band ist bewusst nicht als kumulativ strukturierte Festgabe konzipiert, sondern soll vielmehr an fachwissenschaftlich relevante Diskussionen anknüpfen.
