Shown here is the Bulgarian translation of the 46th edition of the catechism by Filaret (1782−1867), Metropolitan of Moscow, that has already been revised to correct certain features deemed inappropriate by church authorities. Translation was performed by Nikola Kasapski, for use not just in schools but for the broader Christian audience. Kasapski was a teacher and contributor to Bulgarian periodicals such as Liuboslovie (Philology) and Tsarigradski vestnik (Constantinople herald).
