The booklet presented here is a posthumous tribute to Raimundo Santamaría (1795‒1869), published in the year of his death. Santamaría was born in Medellín, Colombia, and became an important figure in the region of Antioquia. He participated in the Colombian wars of independence in the early 19th century. He later married and became an adviser to the government, but he mainly concentrated his energies on business.
