Presented here is a pocket English-Dari dictionary, published in Kabul in 1967. It is meant to provide the vocabulary needed by English speakers to engage in everyday conversation. The dictionary includes a guide to pronunciation, brief notes on grammar, and a list of greetings and useful expressions. All Dari words are transliterated, using Roman script rather than the Perso-Arabic script with which Dari is written. Dari is the variety of Persian spoken in Afghanistan.
