This book, entitled Stern des Meschiah (Star of the Messiah) and published in 1477, is an expanded German version of the Latin Tractatus contra Iudaeos (Treatise against the Jews) published in 1475. In this polemic work written by the Dominican friar Petrus Nigri (circa 1434–83), the author, principally relying on the Old Testament, attempts to demonstrate the verity of Christianity and the falsity of Judaism and its doctrines based on the Talmud.
