This work is a brief summary report by a government commission in the Soviet Union tasked with organizing the rescue operations that saved the crew, scientists, and other personnel of the famous ship S.S. Cheliuskin, which sank near the Bering Strait in February 1934 three months after it was trapped in the pack ice of the Chukchi Sea north of Siberia.
